This volunteer day starts early at 10:00 a.m.
This class is free but has a $5 suggested donation. No registration is required. Groups are requested to email in advance or sign up online.
Learn about rain gardens and how they can be used and implemented at all sorts of scales and locations! Mitigate flooding and runoff issues at your house and in your community and find out how your actions can improve water quality with what you learn.
Our Work and Learn series integrates volunteering with education. Be prepared to get dirty! Boots and work gloves recommended. (Gloves supplied if needed.)
The participatory class starts at 11:30 a.m. with a tour and discussion until 12:15 p.m., followed by planting of our three styles of rain gardens by participants until 1 p.m. Stay for snacks and conversation after class and planting. (Reschedule date: May 20th in case of severe weather; see Twitter and Facebook for notification.)
A waiver will be required to participate as a volunteer. You can sign it on-site, but if you are under 18 years old a parent or guardian must sign. The release is available here. And you may print it and bring a copy with you. No other registration is required.
